When we press the bulb of a dropper with its nozzle kept in water, air in the dropper is seen to escape in the form of bubbles. Once we release the pressure on the bulb, water gets filled in the dropper. What is the reason behind the rise of water in the dropper?

The rise of water in the dropper on releasing the bulb is due to the atmospheric pressure.
The air in the tube and the bulb escapes in the form of bubbles when the bulb is squeezed. Because of this, pressure decreases inside the bulb.
The atmospheric pressure however, which is acting on the water outside, forces the water to fill the nozzle of the dropper when the bulb is released.
