When we put acetone (nail polish remover) in our hand, we will feel cold. Why?
Evaporation of petrol.
Evaporation causes cooling. The particles of a substance while evaporating absorb heat energy from its surroundings and get converted into vapours. Acetone has a low boiling point of 56∘ C. So, when we put acetone in our hand, it evaporates by absorbing heat from the hand easily. Therefore, we feel cold.
