Question

When will light behave as wave , particles and ray?

Open in App
Solution

Rather than saying that light is a wave or light is a particle, I would prefer saying that particle and wave are properties/behavior/characteristics of light.

Phenomena like Reflection, Refraction and Interference are best explained with wave model of light. Photoelectric effect and Compton effect are best explained through particle model.

So, you must not try to decide between these two. Light has these characteristics embedded within it.

So, there is no '''when" between particle and wave nature. They always have both characters in them.
