When you visit a hill station, you notice that the trees there are different, they are tall and have leaves like needles. What do you think is the reason behind this?
They are adapted to the cold environment.
It looks good.
In hilly areas, most of the trees are evergreen. They have narrow needle-like leaves to protect them from damage. Hill stations are so cold that the ground freezes during winter months. Because of this, the trees are not able to get water. Needle-like leaves of these trees help to conserve water.
