When zinc granules are added to copper sulphate solution the below reaction takes place

CuSO4+ZnZnSO4+Cu

In this reaction, zinc is more reactive than copper so when copper sulphate reacts with zinc, zinc sulphate forms and some precipitate of Copper is formed.
