Solution

Auxins are plant growth promoters, generally produced by the growing apex of stem and root of the plants, from where they migrate to the regions of their action. Auxins have a very important role in coordination of many growth and behavioral processes in the plant's life cycle and are essential for plant body development. Functions of Auxins:
1) Elongation of shoot and root tips behind the apical meristem
2) Delaying leaf abscission (fall of leaves)
3) Apical Dominance (inhibit growth of lateral/ axillary buds)
