Adipose tissue is the fat storing tissue in our body. It is a loose, fibrous connective tissue that stores triglycerides, commonly known as fats. The cells of the adipose tissue are known as adipocytes. Adipose tissue contains fibroblasts, vascular endothelial cells and a variety of immune cells
. Adipose tissue is derived from preadipocytes.
Functions-
1.It acts as an insulating layer to prevent the loss of heat from the body.
2.Provide mechanical protection and support around the organs such as kidney.
3.Provides energy storage.
