A pair of kidneys, a pair of ureters, a urinary bladder, and a urethra make up the human excretory system.
The kidney is the chief excretory organ in vertebrates to remove urea and nitrogenous wastes from the body of the vertebrates.
Location:
Each kidney is a bean-shaped, reddish-brown structure which lies along the posterior abdominal wall, one on either side of the vertebral column in the lumbar region of the body.
The two kidneys are not at the same elevation. The right kidney is positioned somewhat lower than the left.
