Solution

Kinetochores:

  1. Kinetochores are large protein structures that forms on the centromere of each chromatid, at which the spindle fibres attach during cell division.
  2. The spindle fibres thus, formed attached to the kinetochore, pulls apart the sister chromatid during mitotic and meiotic cell division.
  3. Its protein holds the sister chromatids together and also plays a role in chromosome editing.

Location: Each chromosome has a centromere or primary constriction, on its sides, are disc-shaped protein structures that are called kinetochores.
