Question

Where are lysosomes made of?

Open in App
Solution

Lysosomes: A lysosome is a membrane-bound cell organelle that contains digestive enzymes.

Formation of Lysosome:

  1. Lysosomes are formed from the fusion of vesicles from the Golgi complex with endosomes.
  2. Endosomes are the vesicles that are formed by endocytosis of the plasma membrane.
  3. As endosomes mature, the late endosomes fuses with the transport vesicles from the Golgi that contain enzyme hydrolase.
  4. Once fused, these endosomes eventually develop into lysosomes.
