Muscles:

  1. Muscles are nothing but the type of tissue called muscular tissue.
  2. These are specialized tissues capable of contraction and relaxation, resulting in movement.
  3. Muscular tissues are of three types, Skeletal muscles, Visceral muscles, and Cardiac muscles.

Visceral Muscles:

  1. Visceral muscles are the muscular tissue present in Visceral organs.
  2. Visceral Muscles be seen in the lining of visceral organs of the body such as the digestive tract, reproductive tract, respiratory tract, urinary tract, etc.
  3. These muscles do not have dark and light bands in their structure, so they are called smooth muscles.
  4. Also, as the movement of these muscles is involuntary, not per our will, they are called involuntary muscles.
  5. These muscles are spindle-shaped with a centrally placed nucleus.
  6. These movements are necessary for food digestion, excretion, urinary, menstruation, etc.
