Origin of Gene:

  1. Genes are made up of nucleotides.
  2. Gene is the genetic unit that passes on attributes and features from parents to their children.
  3. Every DNA is one of a kind. Almost every cell in our body has a copy, arranged into 46 chromosomes in 23 pairs.
  4. A child acquires one genome from the mother and the other from the father for every pair of chromosomes.
  5. When egg and sperm combine, they produce a total of 46 chromosomes or 23 pairs.
