  1. Diffusion refers to the movement of solutes from a higher concentrated region to a low concentrated region.
  2. The process of diffusion can be seen in living cells at many different sites.

Diffusion in plants:

  1. In plants, When stomata are left open at night to reduce transpiration, the diffusion of carbon dioxide occurs in leaves.
  2. The release of Oxygen outside of the plant body can also be referred to as diffusion.
  3. The absorption of water and nutrients through roots is also an example of diffusion.
  4. Transportation of Water and nutrients all over the plant body.

Diffusion in animals:

  1. In the lungs, gases are diffused and exchanged as oxygenated and deoxygenated.
  2. In the digestive and excretory systems, absorption of water and nutrients is done through diffusion.
