Solution

Stem cells:

  1. They are unspecialized cells that divide to produce two daughter cells, one of which remains a stem cell and the other one becomes differentiated.
  2. The major sources of stem cells are embryos and adult tissues.
  3. The embryonic stem cells can be obtained from embryos that are in the early phase of development (for example - blastocyst).
  4. Adult stem cells can be found in the brain, bone marrow, blood vessels, skeletal muscles, and liver, among other places.
