Question

Where is any electric circuit switches are connected?

Open in App
Solution

The concept used: Household circuits

Body of the solution:

  • Switch is used to off or on an electric appliance or devices in an electric circuit.
  • Switches are always connected to the live wire because the live wire carries a voltage of 220 V and the passage of this voltage can be disabled by switching off the circuit.
  • Domestic appliances should be connected in parallel connection, since in parallel connection, switching on or off an electric appliance has no effect on other electric appliances.
  • The advantage of such an arrangement is that, if a device in an electric circuit breaks downs, it will not affect other devices.
  • When distribution circuits are in parallel, each circuit can be operated independently.
