Where is digested food absorbed into blood in human body ?
After digestion, the absorption occurs in the small intestine through the finger-like projections called villi present on the wall of the intestine. Presence of villi increases the surface area of the small intestine to provide enough area for the absorption of nutrients. The highest absorption occurs in the ileum of the small intestine.
After the absorbable particles are absorbed through the villi, the nutrients enter the blood vessels present below the villi. Blood transports the nutrients to the cell for the generation of energy or storage of nutrients.
