The main function of the sensory nerves is to carry sensory input in the form of nerve impulses along their axons, to the central nervous system.
As sensory nerves gather sensory information, which is derived from the variety of sensory nerve endings:-
A Sensory nerve ending in the skin:to detect pressure, pain ,and temperature.
Sensory endings on the tongue to detect taste.
