Location:

  2. Simple passive diffusion is enabled by their presence in the alveolar epithelium.
  3. The mouth, skin, and vaginal mucosa are lined by stratified squamous epithelial cells.
  4. The lining of bodily cavities, blood arteries, and the pericardium is made up of specialized squamous epithelium.
