The brain is divided into three regions- forebrain, midbrain, and hindbrain.
The forebrain region is made of the cerebrum, thalamus, and hypothalamus. This region is associated with various sensory and motor aspects of control and coordination.
The hypothalamus is located below the thalamus, situated below the cerebral hemispheres, at the base of the brain.
Hypothalamus is a small region that modulates activities like heartbeats, rate of ventilation, peristalsis, and blood pressure. It also controls the functioning of the pituitary gland.
