Question

Where is the main fuse connected in a house circuit?

Open in App
Solution

A main fuse (or MCB) is used in a circuit to avoid overloading or short circuiting. When a current higher than the rating of the fuse flows through it, the fuse wire gets heated and melts, so that circuit could be opened. Main fuse is connected only in the live wire before the main switch in the distribution board of a house circuit.
