Solution

The correct option is D Patliputra
The third Buddhist council was held in 250 B.C. in Pataliputra under the patronage of King Ashoka. The council was presided over by Mogaliputta Tissa. Through this council, heretics were expelled and Theravada was established as the orthodox school. The last section was added to the Pali scriptures; Kathavatthu of the Abhidhamma Pitaka, dealing with Psychology and metaphysics.
