Solution
Salivary gland chromosomes:
The polytene chromosomes (salivary gland chromosomes) are first developed by E.G. Barbiani in the salivary gland cells of chironomid larvae.
They are also present in the salivary gland cells of Drosophila larvae, mosquitoes, and cells of the trachea, intestines, and malpighian tubules of some insects.
Such chromosomes have been observed in the endosperm sucker cells of the common bean.
They were first seen in salivary gland cells of Chironomus larvae.
