Solution

Ribosomes: Ribosomes are complex non-membrane-bound cell organelles that are made up of RNA molecules and proteins. These are involved in the protein synthesis in the cells and are called "the protein factory of the cells".

Cancer: The disease that makes the body cells lose their ability to control cell division. This makes the cells divide rapidly and increase in high numbers.

  1. Cancer cells reproduce faster to increase in number, so these cells need more protein than other cells. For this, more ribosomes help in the synthesis of proteins needed.
  2. The fat cells don't need to divide faster and hence don't have as many ribosomes.
