Different types of alcoholic beverages are produced by using different alcoholic drinks and finally separating the alcohol from the other components which is called distillation. Distillation does not produce alcohol, it just merely concentrates it. Some beverages like whisky, rum, brandy and vodka etc. are distilled beverages while some are generally not distilled, like beer and wine.
