Which among the following can be categorized as a mathematical statement?
Irrational numbers can be represented by (pq) where p, q are integers
In mathematical reasoning, we deal with sentences which can be adjudged as true or false without ambiguity. Such sentences are called statements. There wouldn't be any element of subjectivity in such statements. i.e., it's not dependent upon the person's opinion like we have in option (b)
(b) A sentence saying somebody is good or bad can't be validated with 100% clarity. Similarly, vague terms like today or tomorrow wouldn't be there since we aren't aware of the day on which the sentence is said.
At the same time options (a) and (c) can be adjudged to be true or false. In both cases, we can clearly say or prove that the sentence is false/incorrect. So they are statements.
