Which among the following disease is caused by deficiency of Iron?
Anaemia
Deficiency of iron in food leads to anaemia. Iron is an important element required for the formation of red blood cells (RBCs). In RBCs, haemoglobin is formed with iron and globulin protein. This respiratory pigment, haemoglobin, is necessary for carrying oxygen to all the cells of the body. If iron is less in food, it leads to decreased haemoglobin and this leads to a condition called anaemia.
