Night blindness means a person loses his/her ability to see in low light due to impaired function of specific vision cells in the retina. It does not mean that the person is completely blind during the night. Such a condition occurs due to an insufficient amount of vitamin A in the diet. So, to treat or prevent this disease, it is advisable to consume foods those are rich in vitamin A, such as dates, broccoli, carrot, cantaloupe, squash, etc.
