Female frogs possess a pair of ovaries located near kidneys but there is no functional connection with kidneys. A pair of oviducts arise from the ovaries which opens into the cloaca separately. An adult female frog can lay 2500 to 3000 ova at once.

Male frogs possess a pair of testes, found attached to the kidneys by a double fold of peritoneum called mesorchium. Vasa efferentia arises from testes and enters the kidney and opens into Bidder’s canal. Finally, it interacts with the urinogenital duct which comes out of the kidneys and opens into the cloaca (small chamber to pass faeces, urine & sperms to the outside).
