Which among the given apparatus was not used in the production of cathode rays?
Paddle wheel
J.J. Thomson conducted an experiment to produce cathode rays. He used a discharge tube which is about 15cm long and 3cm diameter, connected to a vacuum pump. Metal electrodes were fixed to the ends of the glass tube which acts as the cathode and anode. Paddle wheel was used by J.J. Thomson to demonstrate particle nature of the cathode ray and not in the production of the cathode rays.
