The correct option is A Sulphur dioxide
SO2, when passed through pink-coloured acidified KMnO4, changes it to colourless. The reaction occurs as given below:

2KMnO4(aq)+2H2O(l)+5SO2(g)K2SO4(aq)+2MnSO4(aq)+2H2SO4(aq)

The formation of MnSO4 (Manganese sulphate) turns the solution colourless.

This is a confirmatory test for sulphur dioxide gas as the other gases like CO2, CO and H2S has no decolourising effect on KMnO4.
