There are 6 main phases to deal with a disaster: Pre-disaster phase, Warning phase, Emergency phase, Rehabilitation phase, Recovery phase and Reconstruction phase. ( 1.5 mark)

Taking into consideration of the nature and the scope of the disaster, only three aspects of disaster are important for common citizens. They are:
