Which are the important aspects of Disaster Risk Reduction?
A sudden accident or a natural catastrophe that causes great damage or loss of life and property is called a disaster. It can be natural like earth quakes, tsunami, floods etc and artificial disasters like terrorist attack etc. The impact of disaster depends on the precautions we take to save our lives and our environment. The important aspects of disaster risk reduction are mitigation which is to reduce the effect of disaster for example, construction of wooden houses instead of concrete in disaster prone countries like Japan, early warning system establishment, disaster preparedness and recovery by providing proper health and rehabilitation facilities.
