Testosterone:

  1. Testosterone is the male sex hormone that is made in the testicles.
  2. Leydig cells, present in the interstitial spaces of the testicular lobules outside seminiferous tubules, produce testosterone and other androgens.
  3. The endocrine cells present in the space between seminiferous tubules are termed interstitial cells or interstitial cells of Leydig.
  4. They serve to secrete androgen, and testosterone, which are responsible for the development of male secondary sexual characters.
