Open in App
Solution

Dear student,

Pancreas acts as both an endocrine gland and exocrine gland i.e. it is a part of both the hormonal and digestive system of the body respectively. Pancreatic acinar cells are responsible to secrete digestive enzymes into the duct (pancreatic duct) which connects pancreas to duodenum, so it is called an exocrine gland.
Following are the enzymes secreted by the acinar cells : Pancreatic amylase, trypsin, chymotrypsin, elastase, lipase, ribonuclease etc. responsible for the digestion of carbohydrates, proteins, triglycerides, and nucleic acids.

Regards.
