Which characteristic is true with respect to colloids?
They always have at least two phases.
Colloids have two phases: the dispersion medium and the dispersed phase.
There are different types of colloids: gas in solid, gas in liquid, solid in liquid, solid in gas, liquid in solid etc.
They are quite stable, and so the dispersed phases particles do not sediment.
In colloidal solution due to the relatively smaller size of the particles compared to suspensions, the mixture appears to be homogeneous. But they are considered to be heterogeneous and the colloidal particles are too small to be seen with naked eye.
