Human Development Index is the criterion which is considered as the most important attribute for comparing countries. Though it has few limitations which are as follows:

• It reflects only long-term changes and skips the short-term changes
• It overlooks the distribution of income in the countries
• It ignores the other criterias like pollution level, tax rate, adult literacy etc which should be given equal weightage.
