Through the 1st statement, we can conclude that since the shadow of puppet is forming to the right of Shashidhar, it means that Sun(East) is to the left of him. This makes it clear that he is facing South.

In 2nd Statement, His shadow is falling behind him when he turns left, which means that he is facing sun on his left. This concludes that he is facing south because east is to the left of him.
