Solution
Insulin:
It is a hormone secreted by the beta cells of the islets of Langerhans in the Pancreas.
This hormone is responsible for regulating the level of glucose in the blood by allowing the utilization of the glucose by the cells.
Thereby it lowers the level of free glucose in the blood circulation. However, under a diabetic condition, hyposecretion of insulin occurs due to which glucose level in the blood rises.
This leads to oxidative stress in almost all the organs and causes excessive fatigue, rise in blood pressure as well as frequent urination, and extreme thirst.
Diabetes mellitus is a disease caused by the hyposecretion of insulin hormone.
