The basic Character of all living organism is the kind of cells they are made of, this is because on the basis of cell we can classify all organism into eukaryote or prokaryotes, but on the basis of habitat if animal are classified the earthworm ,Elephant, tiger,Rat will come unde land group but these animal don't have anything other than habitat in common.Therefore nature or kind ocell is consider as the basic characteristic of classification
