The correct option is A Chromosomes at the spindle equator
Prophase is the first phase of cell division in mitotic phase. It is marked by disappearance of nucleolus and nuclear membrane. Condensation of chromosomes takes place and the assembly of mitotic spindle initiates at this phase.
The prophase is followed by metaphase in which chromosomes are moved to spindle equator and get aligned along metaphase plate through spindle fibres to both poles.
