Question

Which elements follow the duplet rule?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student
There are two elements which follow the duplet rule. Hydrogen and Helium.
Both these elements have 1s orbital. They can accomodate 2 electrons.
Hydrogen thus forms bonds by which it can fill its 1s orbital. Helium already has a full duplet of electrons[1s2]
