Question

Which factors affect resistance ?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,
Resistance of a conductor depends on following factors:
1) Length of conductor - More the length more the resistance and vice versa.
2) Area of conductor - More the area less the resistance and vice versa.
3) Temperature - Usually the resistance of the conductor increases with the increase in temperature. This is not the case with semi-conductors.
4) Resistance also depends on material. It is different for different materials.
