Which Formulas are use in A. P.
And what is the meaning of n
The molecules of alkene family are represented by a general formula CnH2n. Answer the following: (a) What do n and 2n signify? (b) What is the name of alkene when n = 4? (c) What is the molecular formula of alkene when n = 4? (d) What is the molecular formula of the alkene if there are ten H atoms in it? (e) What is the structural formula of the third member of the alkene family? (f) Write the molecular formula of lower and higher homologous of an alkene which contains four carbon atoms.
Gram Atomic mass is just the atomic mass expressed in grams ...ie, atomic mass with gram as units. Our book says that gram atomic mass and gram atom are the same thing (similarly for gram molecule and gram molecular mass) . But later a formula is given that : Gram atom = mass in grams / Atomic mass [RAM].
There are questions also that use this formula ( similarly for gram molecule) in which we have to find the number of "gram atoms " in a given mass of substance.
So what is the real meaning of gram atom and the formula ( and is is similar for gram molecules) ?
