Question

Which gas is used up during photosynthesis?

Open in App
Solution

Photosynthesis is a critical process seen in all green plants, algae, and some fungi. In this endothermic process, a series of reactions occur where light energy is converted into chemical energy. The raw materials required for photosynthesis are carbon dioxide, water, and sunlight primarily. There are other factors involved in photosynthesis too.

  • The gas used is carbon dioxide. The end product of photosynthesis is glucose and oxygen. Oxygen is given out as a waste product during photosynthesis.
