Solution
Thymosin:
The hormone Thymosin is secreted from the thymus gland.
The thymus gland is a pink lobular structure situated on the dorsal side of the aorta and the heart.
The prime function of the hormone is to instigate the production of T cells which plays an essential part in the immune system.
The organs and procedures of the body which offer resistance to toxins and infections are collectively known as the immune system.
Thymosin also helps in the development of plasma cells from B cells to produce antibodies.
Antibody refers to a protein generated by the immune system of the body when it detects harmful components known as antigens.
Examples of antigens are fungi, bacteria, viruses, etc.
