Nidulariaceae is a family of fungi in the order Agaricales, generally known as the bird’s nest fungi.
These are the group of organisms, which are named for their similarity with miniature bird nests.
These fungi are found globally, reproducing and growing on decomposing organic matter.
Bird’s nest fungi can be witnessed in temperate regions, where there are shady and damp conditions, however, they are most commonly witnessed in the autumn.
They are generally seen growing in soils enriched with bark mulch or wood chips and on decaying wood.
The bird’s nest fungi are associated with the group of club fungi or basidiomycetes.
Cyathus is known as the bird's nest fungi, while Lycoperdon, which is also associated with the group basidiomycetes is known as puff balls.
