Solution

ANSWER:-
High potential means high concentration of hydrogen ions
A) 1M HCl = 1 M H+ ions
B) pH = -log(H+) i.e 4 = -log(H+)
Thus, H+ conc. = 1 x10-4 M
C) Pure water has H+ ions conc. of 1 x 10-7 M
D) 1M NaOH being basic will have a less conc. of H+ ions than pure water

Thus (A) has the highest H+ ion concentration hence will have the highest potential.
