Vasopressin:
It is also called anti-diuretic hormone (ADH).
The hypothalamus produces vasopressin, which is transmitted axonally to the neurohypophysis ( posterior pituitary gland).
Vasopressin acts primarily on the kidney.
It increases distal tubule resorption of water and electrolytes, lowering water loss through urine (diuresis).
