  1. A part of the male reproductive organ is the testis.
  2. The testis serves as both a major sexual organ and an endocrine gland.
  3. A collection of cells known as interstitial cells or Leydig cells compose the endocrine component of the testes.

Androgens:

  1. Leydig cells produce a group of hormones called androgens mainly testosterone.
  2. Testosterone stimulates spermatogenesis.
  3. It is in charge of the growth and development of male secondary sex organs as well as male secondary characteristics ( like moustache and beard).
