Solution

Adrenal gland:

  1. They are located on top of both kidneys.
  2. The adrenal medulla and adrenal cortex are two types of tissues that make up the gland.
  3. Adrenaline (epinephrine) and noradrenaline (norepinephrine) are two hormones produced by the adrenal medulla.

Fight or flight hormone:

  1. Adrenaline and noradrenaline are dubbed emergency hormones or Fight or Flight hormones.
  2. These hormones are rapidly released in reaction to the stress of any kind and during emergency situations.
  3. These hormones stimulate alertness, pupil dilation, piloerection (hair growth), perspiration, and other bodily functions.
  4. The heart rate, the strength of heart contractions, and the rate of respiration are all increased by both hormones.
  5. They also encourage the breakdown of glycogen, resulting in a rise in blood glucose levels.
  6. Furthermore, they promote the breakdown of lipids and proteins.
